FOCUS
Regular delivery house-to-house of “Focus” newsletters distinguish Liberal Democrat councillors from those of other parties. “You see us all the year round, not just at election time”.
Joy Bratherton published the first “Focus” in Crewe, in the Delamere ward of Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council, in 1981. Deliveries were later extended to the St John’s ward, Valley ward, and Alexandra ward. These three wards then became the Crewe South ward of Cheshire East Council in 2008.
Here are recent editions of “Focus”:

CREWE FOCUS - August 2011
Added: Monday, 19th September 2011In this “Focus” we first want to thank everyone who voted for a Liberal Democrat candidate in the Crewe West or Crewe South elections. Naturally we are disappointed that none of us was successful this time. But we also recognise that many people voted on national issues rather than local ones this year.

CREWE FOCUS - December 2010
Added: Wednesday, 15th December 2010Since the General Election the Coalition Government has had to borrow an extra £12, every day, for very voter. In this financial year that is £150 thousand million extra borrowed, and added to our nation’s debt.
The Coalition Agreement commits the Government to slow down the rate of extra borrowing to get back on an even keel by 2015. The aim is to stop adding to the country’s debt, and certainly not to repay it. Britain’s debt will be larger not smaller in 2015, and interest payment on it will still be huge.
